Far away from motorways and the hussel and bussel of everyday life – lies the fine, 4-star Berg Hotel. It is situated at a height of 650 meters, in the heart of the Rothaargebirges – with wide panoramic views across the valley, and surrounded by a huge expanse of forest woodland.

Hotel information

Within the hotel compound, you will find a bathing and sunbathing area with indoor pool (12.5 x 6 metres), whirlpool, children's pool, sunbathing area, solarium, quiet zone, Finnish sauna and Roman steam baths. In addition, we also offer a hobby room with table tennis and pool tables, a cosmetic area, massages and keep fit sessions (aqua jogging, aerobics and gymnastics).

In the hotel's park, you will find a children's area, a barbecue area, a tennis court, outdoor Kneipp pool, garden chess, sunbathing lawn and easy hiking path (loop trail). A 200 km cross-country ski run begins right outside the hotel, and you can receive a 50% green fee discount for Schmallenberg golf course (18 holes).

Hearty snacks, family lunch or elegant candlelit dinner for two? The chef is a master in his field. He will spoil you with local specialities, but is also well versed in the fine art of haute cuisine. At the Berg Hotel all meals are based on fresh products from the region as much as possible. You can also enjoy a cosy evening in front of the fireplace or end the day with a drink at the bar.

Treat yourself in our wellness department, offering beauty treatments and massages, courtesy of an experienced team, or enjoy a relaxing Cleopatra bath or a long break in our sauna and pool area.

Sauerland is perfect walking country with exhilarating fresh air and crystal clear lakes and streams. Twice a week there is an organised ‘group’ walk, and once a week ‘Nordic’ walking lessons - all free of charge for hotel guests!
